As we get stuck into our program for states, it’s important that we have a full band each week for rehearsals. It’s our competition program, and we want to give it our best shot and continue to be one of the higher performing bands in NSW. There have been quite a few absences the last few weeks and it makes it hard for Andrew as musical director to plan our program, particularly when absences come flowing in an hour before rehearsal starts.
Going forward we need members to make sure they set aside the time each week for rehearsals. Obviously sickness can’t be avoided, but planned holidays can be notified well in advance, and also planned around rehearsals. Section chats and absence notices shouldn’t just be for midday onwards Sunday.
We are a great community band, and I want to celebrate the dedication of those who turn up every week, and ensure we run a successful program for all our members.
