NSWS Concert Survival Guide

Good evening folks,

I am sharing the highly anticipated concert survival guide to get us through the next 1.5 weeks.

Dates & Times

It goes without saying we need ALL hands on deck for these sessions. Early is the new on time!

  • Last Sunday rehearsal Sunday 29th May 4-6.30pm at Barker. Break duty is Trombones and Oboes
  • Dress Rehearsal Thursday 6.30-9.30pm (our only rehearsal with Manabu!) at Barker. Please eat beforehand or after the rehearsal.
  • Concert 4th June 4pm call time at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Concert 7pm, finish 9.15pm and bump out MUST be complete by 10pm

Dinner on the day of the concert

If you would like the provided dinner (wraps/sandwiches and drink) then please request in this form before midnight Sunday 29th of May. Cost is $10 (paid in cash on the day). Dinner sign up form. There will NOT be time to buy dinner on the night so if you don’t want the provided dinner you must bring your own.

Concert Promotion

There are lots of ways to help sell tickets such as sharing the Facebook event, inviting people to the event, sharing on Instagram stories but the most impactful way to get people along is a direct message to someone asking them to buy tickets. Ask yourself how many tickets you have sold, if its less than 10 then we urgently need your help to ensure we have a packed house!

Help requested

We are requesting help finding a photographer, if you have a mate, partner, parent or colleague who would be willing to help please let me know! In addition we are looking for 3 front of house volunteers to help sell tickets at the door, they would be required from 6.15-7pm before the concert. Please let me know if you know anyone!

Band Fee’s

Please ensure you have paid your band fee’s BEFORE the concert. If you are unsure if you have paid or if you are required to pay please contact Louise at [email protected]

Concert Uniform

Be sure to look sharp, we will provide you with your preference between a red scarf or bowtie on the day. The general rules are performance blacks, no lace, no shoulders, no jeans, yes belts, yes tucked in and ironed collared shirts, black socks/shoes. See the picture below for inspiration.

THANKYOU for getting to the end of this email, I can’t wait to see this concert finally take form after 3 years of planning!

Cheers,

Harry
